   Part of being a family is times of fellowship. On July 8th, Resurrection of Peace hosted another old fashioned hamburger and hotdog cook out. The day started with homemade biscuits, gravy, and an egg casserole prepared by and brought by a great cook of Resurrection of Peace, Linda Childress. Those of us that were still able to move after that breakfast feast went into a wonderful worship service where we exalted our Lord and gained strength from the presence of the Holy Spirit and being in the Family of Believers.

   After the worship, the work began for the cookout. All in all, the family of Resurrection of Peace cooked up about 40 hamburgers and 60 hotdogs. Along with this was all the trimmings, chips, and drinks. On a quick head count, there were about 40 people at the cookout. There were young and old alike. There was live music and of course the pool for swimming.

   We will be having another cookout in August and again in September. In October, we will return to Sunday night Bingo once a month. These activities are designed for the community and not just the family of Resurrection of Peace. We would love to have you come visit us and share in all that we do and what our Lord is doing with and for us.
